Where Microscope comes from
GenesisMicroscope
One obsession has run through my career for nearly fifteen years: accelerating product building through technological excellence. Microscope Management is the synthesis of that pursuit, in the AI era. Here's how it came to be — and where the name comes from.
The name: "micro" + "scope"
It starts almost fifteen years ago. Fresh out of school, I set out to replicate the conventions and acceleration tooling — the scaffolding — of Microsoft's ASP.NET micro-frameworks (the "micro"), on a then-emerging technology: Node.js. Back then, Node worked through prototypal inheritance and scope — the "scope".
From that crossover, a lightweight framework was born: microscope.js — code scaffolding, object orientation (the early days of ES6).
One product lineage, one obsession
Each product was born from a chapter of my career, but the through-line never changed: remove friction, gain velocity.
Fullstack engineer & cloud architect
microscope.js— the original Node.js framework: scaffolding, object orientation, faster bootstrapping.microscope baas— an abstraction over popular Backend-as-a-Service engines, providing acceleration levers for product building.microscope boilerplate— an open-source repository of fullstack project templates (API, frontend, CLI…) to accelerate setup even further.
Senior manager — management & digital transformation consulting
microscope audit— capitalising on audit and diagnostic processes; set to merge into the Audit module of Microscope Management.
Head of Engineering
- A methodological and organisational framework — teams and tribes aligned with domains, OKRs connected to strategy, AI and Low-Code/No-Code acceleration units — now capitalised in the Microscope Management platform.
Acceleration isn't only about code: technological acceleration and organisational acceleration are two sides of the same coin.
Microscope Management
Microscope Management is the synthesis of these fifteen years, in the AI era: AI-augmented consulting, and a platform that capitalises knowledge, aligns the organisation, and feeds agents' spec-driven development — to keep gaining productivity now that development is AI-driven.
The ambition: to make these acceleration frameworks — long reserved for my engagements and my teams — accessible to every growing company.
Clarity on the why, freedom on the how.
